p\u0103s\u0103ri de v\u00e2n\u0103toare. Masculul are un colorit spectaculos, cu pene aurii, verzi \u0219i ro\u0219ii irizate, \u00een timp ce femela este maro pentru a se camufla mai bine. Fazanul comun\u00a0Este originar de pe malul estic al Marii Negre, fiind adus \u00een\u00a0Europa\u00a0de\u00a0greci\u00a0\u0219i romani. Este mai mic la corp dec\u00e2t fazanul gulerat \u0219i cel mongolic \u0219i spre deosebire de ace\u0219tia, nu are guler alb. Culoarea general\u0103 este mai \u00eenchis\u0103 &#8211; pe cap \u0219i g\u00e2t &#8211; verde metalic, bat\u00e2nd \u00een albastru, \u00een rest fondul este ro\u0219u \u00eenchis \u0219i aripile brune &#8211; verzui. Coada prezint\u0103 dungi transversale \u00eenchise.
