Este singurul membru al familiei Viverridae care posed\u0103 o coad\u0103 complet prehensil\u0103, folosit\u0103 pentru a se ag\u0103\u021ba de crengi atunci c\u00e2nd exploreaz\u0103 copacii.<\/p><p>Binturongul are un miros distinct, asem\u0103n\u0103tor cu cel al floricelelor de porumb cu unt, care provine din glandele sale odorifere. Acest miros este folosit pentru marcarea teritoriului \u0219i comunicarea \u00eentre indivizi.
